EMDR: What is it and how it works?

By the time you are undergoing EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy sessions, you relive traumatic or triggering experiences in brief periods while the therapist leads your eye movements. EMDR is thought to be effective because recollecting distressing experiences is often less emotionally shocking when your awareness is redirected.
